My dad and I started Monday taking out the transmission out of my Dodge pickup and the year on it is a 1996 an 1\2 ton and at first it was really easy then it got little bit harder because there was the back drive line, and the fore wheel drive line, then we had to take off the exhaust pipe and we took off some bolts of the cross peace member. Then after that we called it good until the next day then when I came back from school we started working on it again and we were so close taking it out but there where some more bolts holding us up from dropping it and it was some small four bolts between the transmission and the motor so we took them out than there was a little problem it was the distributor that when we let the transmission down it would crack it and we would have to buy a new one.So we got on top of the motor and loosen the distributor so when we let it down the motor would lean up so the distributor would have room.
Then when we had the transmission down little there was some wires on the top of the it so I pushed up the back end up little and my dad unhooked the wires then he let the jack down all the way and I pulled it out all the way so we can get it cleaned up and scrap the mud off then my dad took off the started then we started up the fork lift and lifted the transmission up and took it outside and dumped all the fluid out.
